The Paternoster Guild creates historically accurate medieval Paternosters, which were the original version of the modern rosary.

Craft guilds in medieval Europe simultaneously pursued piety and profit, requiring both a high quality of craftsmanship and an active devotional life from their members.

This Guild seeks to educate and inspire all history buffs and devotees of prayer about the historical, cultural & spiritual significance of the Paternoster and its many layers of influence within medieval culture, as well its connection between the past and the present.

The founder of the Guild is a Seattle-based artist, Janelle Bighinatti, who designs and hand-crafts these historically authentic medieval rosaries. Megan Lorance has recently joined the Guild as a co-designer. Both are die-hard medievalists.
